Media coverage of the situation faced by Highly-skilled immigrants has been negligible or nil. As a result many of the lawmakers are unaware of the situation faced by us. IV has come forward to make a Press Release on our behalf to educate the media on the impact of the issue on our community.
Now that IV has done it's part and issued a Press Release outlining the issues faced by highly-skilled employment immigrants in Michigan, onus is on MI members, and others, to call upon the MI newspapers and media to cover our issues as outlined in the press release.
I request all MI members, and others, to call up and/or E-mail the newspapers urging them to feature a newstory covering the issues faced by our community citing IV PR as the source. We are also in the process of collecting and collating stories from people who were rejected licences due to the new rule.
If we can get our stories to the media it will provide publicity to our issues and get noticed by Michigan lawmakers while deciding on the new law. Hence it's really crticial for all of us to participate and make this action item a success story.
Here's a template you can use to E-mail. Put your name and address as newspapers don't normally respond to E-mails sent anonymously. Also customize as required. Please kep the reference to IV Press Release as it's important to get coverage for our issue.

Hi,
My I-140 approved in TSC( premium processing)
My Attorney sent my I-485 on July 2 to TSC
my labor approved from Wisconsin
but I read somewhere all applications needs to go to NSC , is it true?

If you can get your hands on photocopies of Labor certificate, that would be awesome. Otherwise, make sure you at least have the following -
1. Experience letter (with last day of attendance)
2. I140 receipt
3. I485 receipt
4. Paystubs for 6 months of employment post I1485 receive date
You are good to go from there.

There is no premium process for PERM. if you get audited, it will take 1-2 years to get approval. You can do premium for I-140

The USCIS cannot be blamed for the quota mess. That is set by Congress. Now you can legitimately accuse them of sloth and indifference. But not greed. They're not a profit center for the US.
The right place to lobby for change is in Congress. As I've stated in other posts, the appetite doesn't seem to be there right this instant. Maybe if the economy comes roaring back in a couple years, then the political tide will once again turn in favor of reform.

What are IVs recommendations ??
Looks like the news is out on this in media.
Immigration Voice has been aware of this and actively working on it for last 3 weeks. This had been also posted on the donor forums. Core members and several key IV volunteers/ donors already have been working on it and analyzing it. We also had been asked for our recommendations and had send our recommendations. We should see this bill introduced soon in a few days.

My Guess is for x number of GCs processed during last week of june, most of the 2008 quota is consumed by their benificiaries just to clean up the mess.
For the retrogressed countries /categories with thighter quota restrictions , i would not be too much hopefull for atleast couple of years.

A. Since the law is unclear, to be on the safe side, you can have the new company file H1 extension in premium processing and resign/leave the current employer only after extension is approved
B. Yes, new company can start a new PERM and port your earlier PD during I-140 process
C. PD can be ported even if old employer revokes I-140, provided the revocation was not due to fraud.
Also, I am sure all IV members would really appreciate if you could tell us the name of this company which is offering a life long stability..:-)

Hi,
I am in a unique situation as far as capture of earlier PD is concerned.
My company had filed an LC for me in EB3 with PD of Oct '03.
I get fed up waiting for that and got another LC filed with PD Nov 05 in EB2.
I have got my I140 approved for the same and also 3yr ext. based on that as well.
My EB3 LC is approved as well now.
My question to somehow capture the PD of my EB3 LC.
Is it possible ? Is anyone in the same boat ?

Get I-140 approved for EB3 case and then swtich to another company and start fresh GC and once you are ready to file I-140 at new company, take this approved I-140 for EB3 and port it.

That means his stand is not really tied to any issues surrounding the problem or its solution. It is pure politics. So for us he is another clone of Sen. Sessions. And obviously meeting, letter, flower or for that matter whatever we try is not going to work.

My Labor approval uses something that starts with 030-16-**** but there is nothing in SOC with 16 are they changed recently? any clue?
Thats the old D.O.T code. You need to find the corresponding SOC Code.
