2) We should have a rally to local USCIS offices.
3) We should inform Media well in advance about rally so we can get enough coverage.

This is not a single person mission. We should get to gather at this CRITICAL time.

Guys, get a grip on yourself. Volunteer your time for IV. It is both fulfilling and it is for a cause.
Of course being in a state of limbo is not the best thing you planned for, in life. If your spouse is not allowed to work and/or has difficulties coping with stress, just channelize all energy towards IV goals.
Cheer up.
I talked to many important people in IL including state government, university professors who are related to immigration and/or have interest in imm. They are all aware of our problems (hard country limits, spouse/dependents counted in visa numbers etc). It is only the offices of congress reps that show a blank face as far as skilled immigration is concerned.
So I urge you to join your local state chapters and start meeting your reps and/or office staff asap.
Now for those, who are here for a free ride with no progressive work and have not contributed, shame on you and I mean it. :)

Section 205. Retaining Workers Subject to Green Card Backlog.
Allows foreign workers who have started the green card process, but who are subject to green card backlogs, to pay a $500.00 supplemental fee to file an application to adjust status. This change would enable foreign workers to remain in the U.S. until the green card becomes available
Pending labor certification application in PBEC? or this only applies to people who have approved labor, approved I-140 or both?

Just came back, here is my report:
- There were five Chinese and seven Indian people at the march. It was small fun group.
- The group was small but the outcome as you will note from my report below was productive
- Fighnow, who is the Chinese member of mitbbs.com had initiated this 7th July march. Due to short notice we couldn't publicize this event but still it was good to see a bunch of people show up.
- Fightnow and his friends were fully prepared with big banners and all, with appropriate slogans
- In the beginning there was some police presence but they left an hour later, I guess because of a small group
- We carried our placards and banners on the sidewalk and got lot of "honk" support from people driving by.
- Luckily a Chinese TV station happened to be in the area and interviewed many of us. The station is called KCSN 30, if I remember correctly and this news story will air on Monday evening in Bay area. I will post details about this after hearing from fightnow.
- The parking is free on weekends.

- Organize a bigger march on 14th July
- Organize a similar event in DC if possible to get more mileage
- Prepare some banners and placards etc.
- Bring water, it was warm
- Have fun

I live at Walnut Creek, but currently out of town. 21st would be favorable for me, but obviously if you already have people responding for 14th then go ahead by all means..

Oct 09 bulletin indicates jan 22 2005, they should have Visa numbers atleast to cover all the 2004 eb2 in september.How they can calculate so accurately, I am guessing that there could be some more extra visas that may be available at the end of September.If that is not happening then visa numbers could be lost. For eg: If some 2004 cases are not approved by the end of the month for what ever reasons then there will be some visas available which may advance visa dates furthur. So the big question is what will USCIS do with still left visas? Will they approve beyond 5 Jan 2005,with out bulletin being current or just waste Visas?

Sorry if this is not about GC or any US immigration processes...i just would like to know if anybody can help me or provide me the procedures to obtain Canadian PR. I already had an assessment done (me and my husband under H1 here in US as Accountants ) and we have I-140 and 485 pending. We are thinking of trying Canada.
I always checked and read this site but this is my first post and your help would be greatly appreciated.

I did it myself about 5 years back (Aug 2002).. Got approved (Jan 2004) and landed for about 3 days (May 2004) and given friend's address for PR card mailing. He mailed it to my US address... But later I decided to give up Canadian PR for personal reasons... But still it was peace of mind for next 3 years... (2 out of 5 years to maintain PR)...

I am happy to report that we got our approvals. No SMS, no emails, no status change. Infact, our online status still shows RFE review. We got welcome notices yesterday and that's how we came to know about approvals. Got LUD on an old H1B on 8/14/2010.

You stole words from my mouth. Do not tell them that you have EAD.
The trick is to say that you have unrestricted work authorization, i.e., can work for any employer without needing additional sponsorship. Stating that you have an EAD may be confusing to some and they may just take the easy way out by not pursuing further, or, wilfully rejecting to avoid any kind of complications later on that could jeopardize the specific project by suddennly being unable to work.
