I think we all shud send our customer service experiences to USCIS and DHS leadership..we need to make a note of Agent IDs in the beginning..
atleast then they will feel a pinch to improve customer service (didnt they say that this is also one of the reason for fee hikes last year?/ ) :D:D
I think right now the customer service/info pass people are just saying whatever comes to their mouth at that point of time or what they can see on their monitors. They do not research into the case at all. To me that is not customer service at all. Rather it is a disservice in the sense that I got nothing but confusions from them. I still do not know where my case is right now in CSC or TSC. I got three different answers to the same question. The interesting thing is that on talking to the customer service (who said my case is still in CSC), I argued and said that CSC says that it is back in TSC, the reply was, "so it must be in TSC ". In other words, she repeated my own words.

When did this change? I got it renewed from Washington DC a year back
I think it is stated in their website and also someone in the forum was saying this. Did you happen to be in Florida when you renewed the passport last year from DC. if yes, then I can send it to DC as they seem to renew in 10 business days. Am i right...............

The documents may include the following:

... for your help! Now, what do you guys think about getting paid until the end of June by the 1st employer (but at the same time starting to work inofficially i.e. observing only for the 2nd employer) and then going back to work for a couple of weeks for the 1st employer but staring to get paid by the 2nd so that it's fair for both? Would that be legal? If not, there really isn't a good way to deal with this since the new H1Bs are valid not before Oct (if i'd apply for 2 H1Bs), right? I obviously don't want to jeopardize my visa to make my old employer happy so don't want to do anything that's not completely OK in that regard....
In regards to the timing of a petition for a transfer (leaving all the other stuff above aside for a moment), let's say i'd like to start at the new employer 1st of July - to be on the safe side I should get a lawyer, plan a week for them to get the petition ready and then i'd have to wait a couple weeks for the receipt notice (which then allows me to work for the new employer, correct?) - so that would make it 3 weeks?

I filed on 8th August and havent yet received my notices in mail.. I contacted my lawyer today and he sent copies of my receipts and then he also found out that they had received my FP notice .. I am supposed to go on 27th Oct to Newark USCIS... Anyone coming on same day ..
My application is being processed at Texas..
Not many people who have filed with me has recieved any notices as of yet..
So dont worry guys we all should be fine..

OK so we're 1 million in the backlog. That could be a small country.
Instead of spending hundreds of thousands on lobbying, we can just buy a piece of land somewhere (big enough to have a passport office building), get immediate citizenship in our new country and then USCIS will be able to process our GC applications within a year.
Someone from Taiwan (and smaller neighboring countries) can get GC in 1 year but if you're from China you will wait 6-10 years. I am not sure of how much cultural differences exist between these two countries, all I know is that my Taiwanese friend speaks Chinese, goes to Chinese church. So much for diversity.
So.. if anyone has the info on how to register a new country, I'd like to know.

Wanna know the fastest way to get a GC with no strings attached?. Apply in EB1 under "Foreign nationals that are managers and executives subject to international transfer to the United States". Here are the steps
1) Work as a Manager/CEO/CFO in India (or) any other country for 2 years with a company that has a branch in US.
2) Get tranferred to US branch of the company with the same designation and command a salary matching the prevailing wage for Manager/CEO/CFO at that location.
3) You are all set to apply in EB1.

I am also in the same boat. If the current employer does not like me to move to a new position, is there anything the current employer can do stop getting GC?
My I-140 approved and I-485 is pending more than 180 days and priority date is Aug 2004 (EB3).
I got a good offer and want to leave the current employer by shifting to EAD from H1. What would be the worst case scenario the present employer can do to stop getting GC or what else I might need from him in the future regarding GC processing?
Gurus, please help.

small correction:
president is not a member of the congress and neither are the judges (separation of powers)
you are right we may sue congress but to win that is much much tough as even the judge is been appointed by the president which i guess is a member of congress :) but one can certainly try.

Applied for LCP in July 2007 and I am not sure if I can apply for I-140/485 if my labor is approved before 17 August 2007. My PD is July 2007 but my labor might get approved in August.

Well glad that at least all the lawyers' websites experienced lots of traffic these past few days. Happy for them. Only visible benefit from Mr.Oppenheim's dramatic announcement about the 12000 additional visas. :rolleyes:
